They need long clear spans without intermediate columns, room for the production line, overhead cranes, machinery loads on mezzanines and on slabs on grade, a good working environment, clear heights for racking and vehicles, and fire protection, insulation and ventilation suited to the process. The building has to serve today's production flow and allow for expansion tomorrow, without weighing on the budget.
