We prefer to start a project from the building permit and its designs. After 25 years we are confident this helps both quality and cost.

In Greece, building permits are now filed and issued electronically at every stage, through the e-Adeies system of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). A licensed engineer submits the application and the designs, and independent inspecting engineers check the work.

This means that knowing a local engineer near the planning office no longer makes a difference. What makes a difference is an engineer who knows steel buildings. Choosing an engineer without that experience now has more serious consequences for the owner than it used to.

If you prefer, your own architect can do the architectural design. The structural engineer who knows steel buildings, though, should be involved from the early stages, even as an advisor.

Permit designs ready for construction

Our permit designs are construction designs as well, not drawings made only to obtain the permit. The project can start without delay. And because we both design and build, when something changes on site we quickly update the permit file too.

Many owners start a steel building with a steel fabrication plant. Fabricators know steel well, but a building has many other parts, such as the foundation, the slabs, the walls, the installations and the permit. And when the same party designs the structure and sells the steel by the kilogram, it has no reason to keep the frame light. That is why we recommend that the design be done by engineers who look at the whole building.

We have worked online with our clients from the beginning, and online communication is now required by the permit authorities as well.
