The rafters were spliced because of their great length.

A wide-span mono-pitch steel shed with panel roofing. The roof was designed to also carry photovoltaic panels, and the frame has from the start the members needed to close in the sides later. The anchor bolts were sized by calculation, because on an open shed wind uplift tends to lift the roof.
