Steel building of the animal feed facility next to the silos, at Plaka Bridge, Ioannina

Animal feed facility at Plaka Bridge, Ioannina

Steel workshop building

The facility for animal feed of Angelis G. and Sons OE is located next to the old stone bridge of Plaka, on the Arachthos river. It is one of our first projects, a simple building in a remote area with very beautiful landscape.

We wanted the building to match the landscape and the local architecture in color, as far as an economical light industrial building allows, and we helped with our experience. We did the structural design of the frame and the foundation, the fabrication and erection of the frame, and the cladding.

Construction steel building for an animal feed facility at Plaka Bridge, Ioannina

Gable building with constant-section frames and bolted connections, designed to Eurocode 3 and the Greek Seismic Code for the wind, snow and seismic loads of the area. The purlins and girts are galvanized cold-formed sections and the wind bracing is made of hollow sections. The roof was clad with polyurethane panels and the walls with flat concealed-fix panels, with special flashings at the corners, at the base and at the openings.
